Marius Pelsma

Marius Pelsma, born in Leeuwarden the Netherlands and raised in the Bay Area, has been playing bass for over twenty years. The youngest of five children, Marius grew up listening to and appreciating all musical genres from classical to country, folk, blues, classic rock and hard rock. Marius auditioned for the bass position with Astral Kitchen in April of 2007 and his powerful playing and unique sound immediately impressed the group. His passion for rock and blues along with a deep appreciation of the Astral Kitchen sound also made for an instant connection with the band. All involved knew right away that he was a perfect fit and that his talent and style would take Astral Kitchen exactly where they wanted to go in the future. He adds his distinctive tone and technique to the existing Astral Kitchen material and offers a fresh perspective for the new material that is always being cooked up in the Astral Kitchen.
